Aiming to become a hub for the city of Osaka where people from all over the world can gather during the Expo, two stores have opened in the city as places where people can enjoy food, music, talk, and shopping during the six months of the Expo period.

Osaka, Japan – August 13, 2025 – AFRICA WEEK @ LUCUA OSAKA will take place from August 15 (Fri) to August 21 (Thu), 2025 at the LUCUA Osaka B2F Atrium event space, bringing the vibrant cultures, sounds, and flavors of Africa into the heart of Osaka. This special program marks the kick-off of the “100 Million World Challenge”, a visionary project led by the non-profit SackOmi in collaboration with demo!expo, and connected to the United Nations Pavilion “AFRICA WEEK” at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai.

June 21 (Sat)  The Nordic Pavilion presents: Umeda Midsummer



On Saturday, June 21, the Nordic Pavilion and EXPO SAKABA team up to bring a one-day-only urban take on the traditional Midsummer festival to Osaka. Inspired by the Nordic celebration of the summer solstice, “Umeda Midsummer” recreates the magic of the midnight sun with music, flowers, and beer — right in the heart of the city.


Event Highlights:

Midsummer Maypole Installation – A magical Nordic forest scene blooms at the center of the venue, created by artist Makoto Saito.

Floral Crown Gifts – The first 20 guests receive handmade flower crowns by Danish florist Nicolai Bergmann (limited quantity; additional floral gifts available).

Craft Beer Pop-Up – The popular restaurant team from the Nordic Pavilion joins EXPO SAKABA for one day, serving signature craft beers from across the Nordic countries.

Live DJ Performances – Featuring NTsKi, Yuka Mizuhara, and COLA REN for a festive night of dancing and Nordic vibes.

Celebrate the brightest night of the year―Nordic style.

Wear white, crown yourself with flowers, and raise a glass to the midnight sun.

This is Midsummer, joyful and luminous.

On June 21, EXPO SAKABA Minami will host Po!land NIGHT ― a special one-day cultural celebration where visitors can experience the richness of Polish creativity through fashion, art, and music.

demo!expo, in collaboration with the Uganda Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, is proud to present the Uganda Fair in Osaka—a week-long event celebrating Uganda’s vibrant culture and flavors.


Often called the “Pearl of Africa,” Uganda is known for its lush natural landscapes, mild climate, and warm hospitality. As an English-speaking country and a world-renowned safari destination, it offers travel experiences ranging from luxury lodges to local homestays, making it a favorite among global explorers.


At the Uganda Fair, guests can enjoy traditional Ugandan music performances, cultural talks, and food stalls offering local coffee, chocolate, and more. It’s a rare opportunity to experience Uganda’s charm both at the Expo site on Yumeshima and at this pop-up venue in central Osaka.

June 2 (Mon) – June 8 (Sun) Taste of Queensland: A Week-long Celebration of Australia’s Sunshine State Comes to LUCUA Osaka



Osaka, Japan – From June 2 to 8, 2025, the vibrant Australian state of Queensland will take center stage in Osaka through a special pop-up event titled “Taste of Queensland”, held at EXPO SAKABA (KITA), located on the B2 floor of LUCUA Osaka. This initiative is co-hosted by the Trade and Investment Queensland Japan Office, Tourism and Events Queensland, and demo!expo, and is part of a broader effort to bring international cultural experiences into the heart of the city ahead of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai.

Queensland is known for its diverse natural landscapes—from the Great Barrier Reef and Daintree Rainforest to vibrant cities like Brisbane, Gold Coast, and Cairns. The event aims to introduce visitors to the region’s rich offerings through food, design, storytelling, and interactive elements that engage all five senses.


“The Curious Tree of Queensland”

A symbolic tree installation inspired by Queensland’s rainforests will feature hanging displays of local products like beef, honey, lemon myrtle tea, and craft gin. Visitors can explore these items through tastings and interactive exhibits.


Quizland – Win a Trip to Australia

In partnership with Jetstar Airways Pty Ltd, guests can join a quiz trail and enter a draw to win prizes, including round-trip flights to Brisbane or Cairns.


Queensland-Inspired Food Menus

Restaurants near EXPO SAKABA will serve special dishes using Queensland ingredients such as premium beef, bottarga, turmeric lattes, and wine.


Talk Session with Chef Hiroyuki Sakai

On June 6, the renowned Iron Chef will lead a talk on Queensland’s food culture, paired with wine and product tastings.


Weekend Pop-Up at EXPO SAKABA Minami (Shinsaibashi PARCO)

On June 7–8, the event expands to EXPO SAKABA MINAMI with more quizzes and food booths featuring dishes made with Queensland beef by local chefs.
